Dehumidifier Mold Control

One of the best ways to prevent the problem of mold is with dehumidifier mold control. A dehumidifier is the opposite of a humidifier, it takes moisture out of the air. The reason this is helpful for mold is because this fungi cannot grow without moisture. Mold spores that are invisible to the eye float around indoors and out all the time, but cannot turn into mold unless they land in a moist area. The basics of cleaning mold are simple. You will want to protect your body, eyes, hands, nose and mouth when cleaning. This means rubber gloves, old clothes, goggles and a mask. There are cleaning supplies often found in hardware and home improvement stores made for cleaning mold. You can also use a bleach water solution. Depending on how stubborn the mold is, you may need to scrape it off or use a scrub brush. Once you are certain the mold has been removed, rinse the area completely and most importantly, dry it thoroughly.

After you have gotten rid of the mold, you can practice dehumidifier mold control. Purchase the best dehumidifier you can afford, and place it in the area of your home most susceptible to mold growth. This will help keep moisture out of the air and out of your home. In turn, your living space will be much less likely to suffer from mold infestation. Dehumidifiers can be purchased at home improvement stores and even stores like Wal-Mart and Target.
